Nizar Tagi takes on the role of sales director
Barcelona-based marina OneOcean Port Vell has announced the appointment of Nizar Tagi to the role of sales director. His appointment follows on from the sale of a 160m berth.
Commenting on the appointment, general manager Paul Cook, says, “I am delighted that Nizar Tagi has joined the team at OneOcean Port Vell. Tagi is well placed to address the surge in recent demand after the 160m berth sale. Using first-hand experience and knowledge from the superyacht industry, Tagi will focus on client relationships; maximising recent leads and fulfilling owner’s needs. He is an ambassador of OneOcean Port Vell.»
A seasoned yachting connoisseur, Tagi has worked with some of the most prominent names in the yachting industry including George Nicholson the Yachting Guru at Solidmark France in Cannes.
Prior to joining OneOcean Port Vell, Tagi worked with Benetti shipyard, managed Porto Montenegro berth sales and sold superyachts for brokerage firm Ocean Independence in Monaco. He has also successfully sold several pre-owned yachts and managed new construction projects.
Located in the heart of Barcelona, the marina completed a major upgrade in 2014, following a €100 million investment by UK-based Salamanca Group.
The investment has already bear fruit. In 2016 the marina registered a significant increase in the number of yachts visiting the marina compared to 2015: an 85% increase in the 80m category and 742% rise in yachts over 100m-plus.
«Our client was impressed with the investment potential and opportunity to entertain guests in the area and this has piqued interest. There has been a notable need for superyachts to find a secure and safe space in the Mediterranean,» Cook concludes.
