US boating industry continues rebound (2 January 2014)

Figures from the NMMA show an estimated five per cent sales increase in 2013
The US recreational boating industry is expected to continue its post-recession climb with an estimated five per cent increase in new powerboat retail sales in 2013, figures from the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) reveal.
The increase comes on the heels of the industry’s 2012 rebound when new powerboat retail sales increased 10 per cent – the industry’s first sign of recovery. In 2014, the NMMA says it expects recreational powerboat sales to continue to grow another 5-7 per cent.
Retail dollar sales of new powerboats are also expected to be up eight per cent in 2013, signalling that the mix of boats being purchased includes higher priced boats and that Americans are investing more in boating. (https://plus.ibinews.com, 2 January 2014)
