The Superyacht and Megayacht Charter dilemma (2 February 2012)

For some time now we have spoken out against a form of taxation, unique to Spain, considered to be a grave injustice, not only for the yachting market but the country as a whole. The ISDMT or Special Tax on Certain Means of Transport, the so-called matriculation or registration tax, is equivalent to a 12% purchase tax on vessels over 8 metres with a seriously detrimental
effect on the sale of yachts of this size and above. (The Best, January, 2012)
