New marina to open in Italy (12 February 2013)

Porti di Pisa will have 354 freehold berths for yachts up to 50m

Porto di Pisa is a new marina facility to open in Italy’s Tuscany region. The project is a private investment comprising 354 freehold berths for yachts ranging from 8m-50m (26ft-164ft).

The new facility is located 15km from Pisa’s international airport and is part of a large real estate development that includes private housing, shops and other leisure amenities. The entire project is to be built on a property comprising over 210,000sq m and it’s expected to be completed by 2015.

“Our aim is to provide a secure and full service marina for European yachtsmen, but given the extraordinary location, we have no doubt that boat owners from other markets will come to our marina as well,” says Luigi Maccari, Porto di Pisa sales and marketing manager.

In addition, Maccari announced that the marina owners are seeking partners to strengthen the marina management. “We are interested in joining an international marina network,” he told IBI at Seatec 2013.

Porti di Pisa is scheduled to enter operation by the end of May this year. (https://plus.ibinews.com, 12 February 2013)
