New marina announced for the Canaries (26 March 2014)

Lanzarote-based Calero Marina has been granted the construction and operation of Marina Jandia, a new facility to be built on the Morro Jable site in the south of the island of Fuerteventura.
The 8.5 million euro project comprises work on a total area of 64,180sq metres. On completion, Marina Jandía will offer 290 berths for vessels ranging 6m-35m (19ft-114ft), and a commercial area of 2000sq m housing 20 shops.
Calero Marinas’ management has committed to boost local employment. The firm has also teamed up with the Jandía Yacht Club for future events, as well as the Red Cross and the Fishermens’ Cooperative of Morro Jable, in order to be able to coordinate activities for the benefit of all parties.
Calero Marina is part of a real estate group. The group currently operates a facility in Lanzarote comprising over 420 berths for boats with lengths of 6m-60m (19ft-196ft) in addition to 20 berths for up to 50-metre superyachts.
