First time at new venue in Barcelona
The MYBA Charter Show is to open on Monday at its new venue in Barcelona at Marina Port Vell after several years having been based in Genoa . This important annual event focusing on a vital part of the global superyacht market will run April 24-27th. A fleet of nearly 60, from the 95m (312ft) Indian Empress to the 21.25m(70ft) Shawlife, have been attracted this year for the 29th edition. Of the total number of boats on display, eight will be sailing yachts with the largest being the 41m(135ft) Satori.
The brokers with the largest presence in terms of yachts on display are Burgess Yachts and Camper & Nicholsons International(CNI) with around 10 vessels each. Over 20 brokerage houses are exhibiting yachts on display.
The MYBA Charter Show is an industry-only show with no public access. This means it presents a number of specific opportunities such as seeing some of the latest yachts in the market; assessing the current state of the market and gaining some insights into where the charter superyacht sector might be heading in the coming 12 months.
The 2017 event has attracted some 400 brokers, managers, charter marketers, exhibitors and press. Around 140 international and local brokerage houses are represented from over 20 countries across Europe, the Americas, Australasia and Asia. In addition, there are over 90 exhibitors, including a number of the brokerage houses, promoting related services and products.
The scene is set for an intense four days of business, networking, socialising and assessing the state of the market. Furthermore, if that is not enough there are a number of seminars providing updates on the Spanish charter market and others throughout the Mediterranean plus the latest information on tax and VAT. If that is not enough the Palma Yacht and Superyacht shows starts on April 28 and run until May 2.
