Monte Carlo Yachts signs first order for new 105 footer (September 16, 2014)

Franco-Italian shipyard Monte Carlo Yachts (MCY) has signed the first order for MCY 105, its new 105-footer model. The yacht is the largest vessel in the MCY range and she will make her debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2015.
Commenting on the new build, general manager Fabrizzio Iarrera, said: “Building this 32-metre, three deck yacht will entail 100,000 hours of product development and 40,000 hours of construction. The MCY 105 will be 15% lighter than yachts of similar size.”
Founded in 2009, and part of the Beneteau group, MCY’s portfolio comprises four models, including MCY 76 (2010), MCY 65 (2011), MCY 70 (2012) and MCY 86 (2013), all designed by Italians Nuvolari & Lenard. MCY 105 will be Monte Carlo Yacht’s new flagship model.
The Beneteau group invested €25 million in MCY’s yard at Monfalcone, near Trieste. The site spans 20,000 square metres and has the capacity to build yachts up to 38m in length. It also has its own pontoon on the Adriatic Sea for testing, and the technology to build a 23m yacht in just 20 days.
