* Around 34,000 visitors 26th Monaco Yacht Show
The 26th Monaco Yacht Show (MYS) opens tomorrow amidst signs of improvement in the European boating markets as highlighted by the recent Cannes Yachting Festival and Genoa Boat Show. What MYS will provide is an insight to the state of the health of the global superyacht market and how that is performing.
Being held a little later than in recent years, and running into October, MYS will take over Port Hercules from September 28 to October 1. It is anticipated that some 34,000 visitors will come to view the 580 exhibitors and 125 yachts on show.
The list of brands includes Lürssen, Blohm+Voss, Azimut-Benetti, Sanlorenzo, Feadship, Sunseeker, Nobiskrug and Turquoise to name a few.
The largest yacht in the show is the 85.5m (281ft) Solandge, with over a dozen other large superyachts over 65m (213ft) both as new or brokerage yachts for sale or charter.
A new feature this year is the introduction of the MYS Car Deck – a prestige car exhibition zone that includes premier automobile brands such as Lamborghini and Rolls-Royce in association with broker Burgess. Around 10 models will be displayed at the MYS Car Deck, which will offer a 230sq m indoor lounge bar for all of the show’s visitors and exhibitors. Cars will be available for purchase or a test drive in the heart of the town.
Alongside the show will be a number of industry meetings and conferences to provide visitors with the latest intelligence and assessments on the market. These events include the annual meeting of SYBAss, the MYS Summit and the Marine Money Superyacht Finance Forum.
