2015 not only marks the 25th edition of MYS but also marks the 15th year that e3 have exhibited. Technology moves at a fast pace and e3 Systems has been at the forefront of introducing innovative communication solutions to the super yacht industry for 20 years. This year e3 will be joined again on the booth by partners Airbus Defence and Space and Kymeta Corporation. Airbus are one of the world’s leading maritime satellite communication airtime suppliers specialising in providing large yacht VSAT services. Kymeta Corporation is the Bill Gates financed company which is about to revolutionise the design of yachts with the development of innovative metamaterials-based flat panel antennas for satellite communications.
The Kymeta flat panel has generated a high level of interest and will soon be commercially available. e3 is preparing for this by introducing their FLATGRADE special offer at the Show. Any client who buys a complete VSAT system now, together with conventional domes and airtime, will receive a 50% refund on the both the cost of the domes and customisation consultantancy when the flat panel antenna is ordered. Clients taking up this offer will be the first to receive the flat panels as they become available.
In addition e3 will be showcasing its HYBRID communications system. e3’s 20 years of experience show that yachts over 24m spend 87% of their time inshore. The HYBRID therefore combines a base satellite service with 3G, 4G and terrestrial broadband services providing super yachts with 100% connectivity; ensuring the fastest possible service at the lowest possible rate, whether in port, offshore or mid-ocean. Slower, expensive connectivity is supplemented with faster, more cost effective connectivity across the whole network platform. Once e3 has received a detailed brief of where the yacht is traveling to, the service required, and for how long, a customised HYBRID programme is created.
“ “The yacht’s computer is now almost a standard feature on larger yachts with an increasingly important role to play”. This was a comment I made on the press release for our first Monaco Yacht Show back in 2001! “said Roger Horner, Group Managing Director of e3 Systems.
“How times have changed. Owners, family, guests and crew in 2015 expect to be continuously connected on their tablets and smartphones from the minute they step aboard the yacht to the minute they step off the passerelle. Our HYBRID solution ensures that they can do this by synchronising satellite and land communication to keep the yacht online, everywhere”.
“And just to make sure that our MYS visitors have some light relief we are running a selfie photo competition with e3 HYBRID selfie sticks as the prizes. The prizes will be awarded for the most original shots highlighting why you need the e3 HYBRID solution to keep you to keep you continuously connected” added Roger Horner.
e3 is starting off MYS by co-sponsoring a pre-Show VIP cocktail party with partners ICON Connect at their offices in Monaco on Tuesday the 22nd September
The company will also be launching their new corporate videos at the Show and are inviting clients to help them celebrate their 15 years at MYS by joining them in a glass of Mallorquin wine each day on their booth QS 87 in the Darse Sud tent from 16.00 hours.
