Christensen signs three superyacht contracts at Ft Lauderdale show (16 November 2012)

The new contracts will keep the yard busy through 2015

Christensen Shipyards said it had secured three contracts at the Ft Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) in late October. The company said in a statement the contracts will keep the shipyard operating through 2015.

The yachts include two new builds, one of 164 feet and the other 160 feet, and a refit of an existing 160ft yacht.

The Vancouver, Washington, shipyard now has eight yacht projects, including two yachts being built under contract for Ocean Alexander. Christensen said it hired 80 workers in 2012, which brings its workforce to 250 employees. It plans to hire 60 more by the middle of 2013. (IBIPlus.com, 16 November 2012)
