2014 Palma Superyacht Show expands (16 December 2013)

The Balearic Yacht Brokers Association is planning to increase the number of berths available to 65
The Balearic Yacht Brokers Association (BYBA), organiser of the Palma Superyacht Brokerage & Charter Show in Mallorca, Spain, has announced that it is expanding the amount of exhibitor space on offer at next year’s event.
“We had 43 yachts exhibiting this year and with the extended area we will increase the number of berths available to around 65, all above 24m,” says Arne Ploch from BYBA member company Camper & Nicholsons International Palma.
The name of next year’s show, now in its second edition, has also been shortened to the Palma Superyacht Show, although it will still cater to motor and sailing yachts over 24m (79ft) for sale and charter. The event will run concurrently with the Palma Boat Show from April 30 to May 4, 2014.
“The timing of the show around the 1st of May holiday and its location right in the heart of Palma makes it a very attractive show for international visitors to attend,” says Marc Händle from Ocean Independence, another BYBA member firm. “Together with the recently approved exemption of the Spanish matriculation tax for charter yachts over 15m this will further confirm its success.”
The 2014 Palma Superyacht Show is open to all companies whose main business is with yachts above 24m (79ft) and is said to be the only brokerage and charter show organised by the industry itself.
Participating brokers in 2013 included Burgess, Camper & Nicholsons International, Ocean Independence, Dahm International, Fraser Yachts and Northrop & Johnson. (https://plus.ibinews.com, 16 December 2013)
